São Paulo - The governor of São Paulo, Geraldo Alckmin (PSDB), again defended this morning that the discussions in relation to a possible impeachment process of President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva should not be deepened. “I am not in favor at the moment of discussing this issue of impeachment. This can even take the focus off the investigation, ”he said.
For Alckmin, Congress should focus its efforts on investigating allegations of corruption. "Now it is necessary to deepen the investigation, seeking the truth, justice and punishment of those responsible."
The governor of São Paulo also criticized President Lula's recent statement. “The president spoke, but did not explain. He owes more explanation to the Brazilian people, ”he said.
Alckmin participated, in São Paulo, in a seminar on tax evasion and tax burden, held by the Brazilian Institute of Competition Ethics (Etco).
