Since the last day 01/04, the use of electronic invoices (NF-e) is mandatory for the sectors of tobacco and liquid fuels. The numbers recorded in the first ten days of compulsoryness indicate the success of the project: more than 1 million documents were issued across the country.
The amount corresponds to R $ 25 billion in goods movement, as revealed by Eudaldo Almeida de Jesus, coordinator of the National Meeting of State Tax Coordinators and Administrators (ENCAT), partner of the Federal Revenue in the project of implantation of Electronic Invoices, in an event held fur Brazilian Institute of Competitive Ethics (ETCO), in the city of São Paulo. All states are already authorizing the NF-e.
The figures are relevant because from April 2006, when the NF-e project was launched, until March 31 this year, more than six million electronic invoices were issued, according to the data revealed by ENCAT. For Instituto Etco, the adoption of NF-e is a relevant mechanism for combating tax evasion and a step towards the modernization of tax administration.
Etco is a civil society organization of public interest (Oscip) that brings together companies and non-governmental business entities, with the aim of promoting competitive ethics to improve the business environment and encourage actions that avoid competitive imbalances caused by tax evasion, informality , forgery and other misconduct.
To this end, it seeks to make society aware of the social harms of unethical practices, its negative effects on the country's growth. The fuel, soft drinks, beer and tobacco and Technology sectors, which were incorporated last year, are part of Etco.
The data match those recorded by the Digital Convergence Branch in Rio Grande do Sul, in an article by journalist Manoela Bandinelli. In it, Sefaz Virtual RS - which serves companies in Rio Grande do Sul and another 498 companies from 12 other states, reveals that it accounted for an increase of R $ 09 million in nine days of operation (the article was released on April 04). 2 billion in the amount traded. From September 2007 until now, the amount reaches R $ 12 billion.
