A consensus is building in Brazil and in the world on the need for
tracking of various products. But there is a sector in which the need for
certifying the origin and authenticity of its products presents itself as
fundamental and priority: medicines.

In order to discuss a tracking system, it took place on the 30th
May 2008, a workshop at the Hotel Meliá, in São Paulo, organized by ETCO with the
presence of Anvisa and representatives of the laboratories. On occasion four
ETCO member companies made themselves available to Anvisa to participate
pilot project of the system.

“The support of the Brazilian Institute of Ethics in Competition for the
drug screening aims to combat fraud, counterfeiting and
tax evasion in the sector, uniting all links in the chain in promoting ethics
competitive ”, says professor André Franco Montoro Filho president of ETCO.
