Brasília - The president of the National Confederation of Industry (CNI), Armando Monteiro Neto, said on Wednesday, August 12, to President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, at the ceremony where he was awarded by the CNI with the Great Necklace of the Order of the Industrial Merit, having the government in full condition to relieve investments and solve the accumulation of export credits regardless of tax reform.
“We know that a comprehensive tax reform will face problems. But Your Excellency is fully capable of ending perverse aspects of Brazilian anti-competitiveness, ”he declared. “Partial advances have occurred. It is time to complete them. The industry has proposals to face this issue and we are sure that its completion would crown an important stage in the process of modernizing the Brazilian economy, ”he said.
Monteiro Neto justified the tribute to the President of the Republic as recognition not only of the government's achievements, but also for the “fair expectation” of what Lula can still do. “In this final period of government, the important thing is to eliminate obstacles to sustained growth”, he stressed.
According to the president of CNI, "it is not a business drama to point to the old problems of the tax system, bureaucracy, infrastructure deficiencies and dysfunctions in the labor relations system", bottlenecks, as he underlined, which represent job losses , competitiveness and the ability of the industry to face difficult global competition.
He defended the "imperative need" to modernize Brazilian political institutions, to transform the political system, "to make it closer to the citizens", to advance "in the professionalization of the State", emphasizing the need for "the republican sense of institutions to prevail" ”.
Monteiro Neto recalled the course on turning that Lula took at SENAI, stressing that education for work, as carried out by SENAI, “provides citizenship, provides tools to face the world, creates opportunities and has an emancipatory character”.
“His time at SENAI is very proud of us. The trajectory of his life - from a migrant from Garanhuns to President of the Republic - is a lesson for all Brazilians that it is possible to dream, it is possible to move forward. Your Excellency values the opportunity that SENAI has given you, values personal growth and denies victimization, of people and countries ”, highlighted the president of CNI.
Before receiving the Great Necklace from the Order of Industrial Merit from Monteiro Neto, the President of the Republic visited an exhibition of 300 photos of him on slide at CNI, from his childhood to his inauguration at the Presidency of the Republic.
