The Brazilian Institute for the Defense of Competitiveness (Instituto Brasil Legal - IBL) invites the press on February 12th, at 10:30 am, at the Hotel Quality, to present figures that reveal that, while the computer and electronics industry installed in the country faces a strong retraction, imported products start to lead the market, in clear unfair competition. Products imported without registration with the IRS are the most sold. The data is confirmed by comparing the Federal Revenue records and market statistics. The presentation is by Edson Luiz Vismona, executive president of IBL, an entity created in 2005 to combat the piracy of electronics and other unfair market practices.

Edson Vismona, who served as secretary of justice and defense and citizenship of the state of São Paulo (2000/2002) and national secretary of agrarian reform (2002), will also comment on the impact of the approval, in December, of the Sacoleiros Law . With the new law, the domestic industry should be even more affected by the entry of products from China and Taiwan using Paraguay as a passage corridor.
