After several technical meetings between the States, as of the first day of the month, another 54 sectors are obliged to issue the Electronic Invoice (NF-e), with 31 thousand companies in São Paulo alone. According to Jose Adriano, director of solutions at IOB, until this Wednesday (9), more than 367 million NF-e were issued, representing R $ 5,6 trillion.

Marcelo Alves Fernandez, leader of the NF-e project for the State of São Paulo, explains that these choices are not statewide, “it is uniform across the country”. Since last year, this requirement was already prevalent in some sectors. “In April 2008, there were 5 sectors and in December they were 12”, he indicated.

Fernandez also informed that there will be another expansion next year. “For 2010, the expectation is that by October, all companies will be obligatory, which includes industries, wholesale trade and distribution,” added Jose Adriano.

For the IOB director, the important thing is to mention that the NF-e generates a great benefit for those who receive it, “because the company is able to make a fiscal conference, integrate this information even before having the material in the store”, while for Fernandez the importance is in the inspection itself.

“The state wins through cost reductions, increased confidentiality and a drop in tax evasion. For the recipient, the task is more practical, facilitating logistical planning and reducing bookkeeping errors, ”said Fernandez. In addition to this decrease in tax evasion fraud, there is also a drop in unfair competition, added Jose Adriano.
