Entities unite and promote task force against piracy in health

São Paulo - In order to promote actions and activities aimed at combating the counterfeiting and fraud of health products and medicines, associations in the sector signed a technical cooperation agreement to combat piracy with the National Health Surveillance Agency (Anvisa). The document was signed on the 10th, in Brasília.
The president of the Brazilian Association of Importers of Medical-Hospital Equipment, Products and Supplies (Abimed), Aurimar José Pinto, said that this action aims to disseminate information in order to combat health piracy. “This union will strengthen the work that has already been developed by Anvisa in the fight against counterfeit medicines. We are now going to carry out joint prevention and guidance actions with the involvement of all entities in the sectors. ”
In addition to Abimed, the following entities participate in this task force, represented by the American Chamber of Commerce (Amcham): the Brazilian Association of Importers and Implants Distributors (Abraidi), the Brazilian Chamber of Laboratory Diagnosis (CBDL), the Pharmaceutical Industry Association Research Institute (Interfarma), Brazilian Association of Life Sciences Companies (ABCV), Brazilian Association of the Food Industry for Special Purposes and the like (ABIAD) and the Brazilian Association of the Medical, Dental, Hospital and Laboratory Articles and Equipment Industry (Abimo).
