Sindicom, Fecombustíveis, Abieps and 23 state unions representing gas stations gave Allan Kardec, director of the ANP, a document asking the agency to regulate the entire ethanol chain. Today, the agency only works on the stage between distributors and service stations. The change depends on Congress, Casa Civil and MME.

The fuel sector wants to tackle the illegal sale and adulteration of alcohol. If a plant supplies ethanol directly to a retailer, the ANP cannot approve the manufacturer. The post is only fined if the irregular origin of the product is proven, explains Kardec.
More gas
CEG and CEG-Rio are campaigning to encourage the conversion of vehicles to vehicular natural gas (CNG).
Distributors, kit manufacturers and service stations participate. Rio is home to half of the national fleet powered by CNG (1,6 million cars).
