The Special Operations Center (Cope), in conjunction with the South Brazilian Fuel Quality Committee, began on Monday (09) the inspection of 68 stations in Curitiba. Until Friday (13), checks on pumps and adulteration of fuels will be verified, in addition to curbing tax evasion.
For the delegate Francisco Caricati, since the actions started in all the State, the results are positive. In 2002, the rate of adulteration was over 25% and today it is around 1%. “This work has the function of preventing crime and has been very efficient. Fraud has declined every year. Today, Paraná is the state with the lowest rate of fraud in this area ”.
Since the beginning of the year, Cope and the Committee have operated in Foz do Iguaçu, Cascavel, Umuarama, Campo Mourão, Maringá, Londrina, Guarapuava, Ponta Grossa, Jacarezinho and Santo Antônio da Platina, where approximately 160 gas stations were inspected .
Among the irregularities found in the interior, it was found that some stations sold fuel without authorization from the National Petroleum Agency (ANP), in addition to problems of tax evasion and environmental crime.
The South Brazilian Fuel Quality Committee is a social organization of public interest, which helps to monitor irregularities in fuel trading companies. They operate throughout the South of the country and check the companies' documentation to find irregularities and, when they find them, report them to the authorities.
