Cost reduction
In bidding and funding alone, the savings were R $ 288,7 million. With personnel, savings reached R $ 74,1 million. The event is sponsored by the Competitive Brazil Movement (MBC), which will bring together dozens of Brazilian mayors and governors who have management improvement initiatives in their states and cities. During the event, authorities and renowned executives will give lectures on innovation and management, in addition to panels with practical cases of success in improving public management.
The innovative practice of qualifying public spending by systematically cutting waste in the administrative machinery provided the Government of Bahia with the necessary foundation to face the current international economic crisis.
Bahia Commitment
"In times of crisis, this type of economy is important to help balance public accounts and the Bahian Government, in an action of administrative responsibility, has been intensifying measures to contain spending, identifying and combating waste", explained Governor Jaques Wagner, who highlights the differential of the Bahian Program, which is the qualification of spending, with the reinvestment of resources in social actions.
As of the signing of the term of adhesion, the Bahia Commitment aggregates all 23 state departments and attached bodies of the direct administration. The volume of resources retained by the Secretariat of Administration (Saeb) from control actions in personnel management, bidding and costing, has been reinvested in the maintenance of the state public machine, embodying the Government's effort to contain state spending.
