Forty percent of national income and more than 50% of jobs. This is the weight of informality for the Brazilian economy, according to a study prepared by McKinsey at the request of the Brazilian Institute of Competitive Ethics (Etco). The data were presented yesterday, during a seminar that brought together several specialists in unfair competition. The event was opened by Governor Geraldo Alckmin, who announced the creation of a state committee, directly linked to his office, to discuss the matter.
As of today, the study and a document with suggestions for measures to be taken will be sent to the Ministers of Justice, Civil House, Justice, Finance and Economic Development. The idea is to set up a national committee to address the issue.
