BRASILIA - The Secretary of Commerce and Services of the Ministry of Development, Edson Lupatini, celebrated this Wednesday the approval yesterday, in the Senate, of the bill that creates the National Network for the Simplification of the Registration and Legalization of Companies and Business ( Redesim), which facilitates the procedures for opening and operating companies in Brazil and encourages adherence to the formal market of economic activities that are currently informal.

According to Lupatini, the implementation of Redesim will simplify and streamline requests for starting a business because the necessary documents will be delivered only once, and the costs of these operations will be reduced by the ease of registration. The text of the project also foresees the issuance of provisional operating permits and simplification of requests for registration in the health security, environmental control, fire prevention units, among others, according to the business activity.

The secretary said that the approval of the matter in the Senate is an important advance because it reduces the bureaucracy necessary to increase economic activities and generate jobs and income. He argued that Redesim is an old claim of the heads of micro and small businesses, segments that currently represent 99% of formal companies in operation; 55% of formal jobs; 24% of company revenues and 51% of exporting companies.

- The implementation of the Redesim project should further improve these indicators - he said.
