During routine inspections on buses that were heading to Pará, federal highway police caught smuggled drugs, some of which were forbidden in Brazil.

The flagrant occurred yesterday on BR 163, at around 13:30 pm, near Coxim. There were found 5860 pills of the brands Cytotec, which is abortifacient, Mintagras and Pramil, an alternative to Viagra.

The boxes were in a backpack, hidden in the rear axle of the bus.
The 36-year-old driver admitted to owning the bag and said he took the drugs in Mundo Novo to take him to Cuiabá / MT.

He was arrested in the act and sent to the civil police station in Coxim for smuggling / embezzlement and a crime against public health.

The bus was released to continue the journey with a spare driver who was in the vehicle. (Information from PRF advisory)
