In less than seven months of mandatory issuance of the Electronic Invoice (NF-e) by contributors in the segment of cigarettes and fuels (cigarette distributors, alcohol plants, oil refineries, transporters and retail resellers), 40 million NF- es have already been authorized for a movement of more than R $ 850 billion.
In Bahia alone, the state that is nationally responsible for the technical and executive coordination of the Electronic Invoice System and one of the first to process NF-es in the country, more than 1,3 million bills have already been authorized.
“These are very representative numbers and show that, since the implementation of the system, in April this year, everything has been working very well. With the NF-e, the Tax Authorities are sharing information, which will have an impact on the increase of tax justice and simplification of the fulfillment of accessory obligations by taxpayers ”, explains Eudaldo Almeida, coordinator of the National Meeting of State Tax Administrators and Coordinators (Encat) and auditor of the State Finance Secretariat (Sefaz).
The Electronic Invoice is a document issued and stored electronically, in order to document an operation of circulation of goods or provision of services that occurred between suppliers and taxpayers. Legal validity is guaranteed by the digital signature between the two parties, prior to the occurrence of the Fact Generator.
The system brings a series of benefits to taxpayers such as the elimination of typing invoices in the receipt of goods and consequent bookkeeping errors, in addition to the logistics planning that is made possible by the early receipt of information contained in the NF-e.
For the issuer of the Nota Fiscal, the system allows the reduction of costs for the acquisition of forms, printing and storage of tax documents.
