Eight people arrested for smuggling cigarettes and electronic goods

Federal police officers from the Cascavel Police Station in the west of the state arrested eight people between Thursday afternoon (15) and Friday morning (16) who were bringing smuggled goods from Paraguay to Brazil. Cigarettes and electronic equipment were seized.
In the first action, the agents found three vehicles loaded with cigarettes in a house in Santa Tereza do Oeste. Renault Scenic, Meriva and Palio cars were loaded with cigarettes and 22 other boxes were hidden in the house. At the scene, four people were arrested: the owner of the house, which served as a warehouse, and three other people lived in Foz do Iguaçu. The woman's five children, who were at home at the time of the police action, were referred to the Tutelary Council of Santa Tereza do Oeste.

Electronic products without invoice would be taken to Blumenau
In another action, at dawn on Friday (16), the police arrested four more people who were bringing electronic equipment without invoices from Paraguay. The goods were taken in a Saveiro truck, whose body was full of contraband. Another Renault Logan vehicle served as a support for criminals. They were staying at a motel on the banks of BR-277, in Cascavel. From there, they would travel to Blumenau, in Santa Catarina, where they live.

In 2010, the Federal Police station in Cascavel arrested 174 people in the act for involvement in smuggling, drug trafficking, environmental crimes, pirated media and counterfeit currency. In the period, 27 trucks and 104 cars, used in the practice of criminal actions, were also seized.
