An operation carried out by the Tupã Civil Police through the General Investigation Office (DIG) and the Brazilian Association to Combat Counterfeiting, resulted in the seizure of about 800 packs of cigarettes of various brands.
During the operation, several commercial establishments were inspected, and in some of them there was the seizure of cigarettes, whose origin will now be investigated.
The cigarettes, according to the Tupã Sectional Police Chief, Luiz Antônio Hauy, will be sent to forensics and, if their falsification is confirmed, the owners of the establishments where this material was seized will be held responsible. "The Civil Police will now launch a police investigation to investigate the crime of smuggling and embezzlement," said Hauy.
