(Reader Panel) Deconstitutionalized tax reform
Source: Folha de S. Paulo, 05/03/2009
“I take advantage of the excellent article by André Franco Montoro Filho of 3/3 (“ Deconstitutionalized tax reform ”), in which he proposes“ minimum rates of goods in the basic basket ”and that“ the establishment of interstate rates is done by a Senate resolution , as provided by the Constitution ”, to propose that the ICMS tax rate on medicines should be 7%, like that of sausages in the basic food basket. This decrease in the rate would result in an immediate decrease of at least 10% in the price of medicines and would end the stupid fiscal tour of almost all medicine production. ”
