As of yesterday, 16.09.2010, during activities carried out by Federal Police in the police operation called SENTINEL OPERATION, a 33-year-old male person, resident in the municipality of Santa Rosa / RS, was arrested. he was caught carrying 5.000 packets of cigarettes of Paraguayan origin, without proof of regular entry into the country, which were being transported in a GM Monza car, approached at the intersection of Highways RST 344 and BR 392, in the municipality of Santo Ângelo / RS.

Said person was criminally indicted for the offense typified in article 334 of the Penal Code (smuggling / embezzlement), having been referred to the Regional Prison of Santo Ãngelo / RS, where it will be available to the Federal Court of this municipality.

In two days of activities of the SENTINEL OPERATION in the area of ​​operation of the Federal Police Station of Santo Ângelo / RS, this was the third arrest in flagrante delicto, also resulting in the seizure of 32.680 packets of cigarettes of Paraguayan origin, 03 firearms , ammunition of foreign and national origin, 03 automobiles and other goods.
