The popular saying “shot what you saw, hit what you didn't see”, fits perfectly with the action carried out by civil and military police at noon yesterday, on Camaragibe Street, in Mãe Luiza, in the eastern part of Natal. In search of a homicide case, policemen ended up finding approximately 40 boxes of cigarettes without tax evidence - possibly counter-bandits.

The man identified only as Robson was the wanted one. He is suspected of killing Maurício Bezerra da Silva, 20, also known as “Peixinho”, on Camaragibe Street, on 16 August. Summoned several times to give testimony, but without ever appearing at the 4th Police Station, in Mãe Luiza, Robson was being searched on the morning of yesterday by civil police and, when trying to escape, he ended up showing the hideout of the smuggled products .

There were 40 boxes of Record brand cigarettes found without tax proof. Each box has about 500 cigarette packs, totaling 20. All of this, without a single fiscal proof, characterizing smuggling.

In addition to the cigarette, three boxes of coins were found in the house, a 40-inch LCD television, a scanner, two microsystems, four car sounds, car speakers, a notebook, two computer monitors, a box with approximately 150 Pirate DVDs, Styrofoam boxes, an empty safe and 14 more 9mm caliber pistol ammunition.

The owner of all this would be Marcelo Pegado Freire, 38, but as he was not at home at the time of the approach, he was not arrested.

The seized products were sent to the 4th DP, in PC and PM vehicles - called to help with transport. Marcelo Pegado's family members were even at the house, but the police preferred not to take anyone arrested. Robson, at the close of this edition, had also not been located.
