A joint action by the Specialized Police Station for the Reproof of Crimes Against Consumer Relations (DECON), the ANP (National Petroleum Agency) and the Secretariat of Finance recently banned Posto Saldiva for selling adulterated fuel. The post is located at the intersection of Yokohama Street and Avenida Júlio Castilho, in the Capital.
According to police, the station received 5 liters of fuel this morning. When inspecting this fuel, it was found that one of the fuel pumps was tampered with, as the measured alcohol content was 82,3%, while the law states that this content must be 92,6%.
According to the DECON delegate, Adriano Garcia, the station will have its bombs sealed and will be banned. In addition, the administration of the post will undergo a process and may be required to pay a fine ranging from R $ 5 to R $ 5 million reais.
The person in charge of the station, Alexandre Saldiva, 38, defended himself saying that he has the invoices for the 5 liters that arrived at the station today and that the adulteration must have occurred on the way between the purchase and the arrival of fuel at the station , in this way, Petrobras would be responsible.
Decon will be responsible for trying to identify who was responsible for the tampering. [Photo: Alessandra de Souza]
