PRF seizes 1,1 million packs of cigarettes in Dourados

Agents of the Federal Highway Police (PRF) seized yesterday, in Dourados, a shipment of 110 packages of cigarettes that together total 1,1 million packs, all smuggled from Paraguay. The apprehension occurred during the night under inspection on the BR-163. The contraband was distributed in three bi-train trucks from cities in Paraná and São Paulo.

According to the PRF, the seizure occurred during an approach at dawn yesterday at BR-163, in Dourados. The cigarettes were in three trucks with signs for Cascavel and Mandaguari, both cities in Paraná; and Eldorado, a city in the interior of São Paulo. SAM, who was driving a Vectra vehicle with Dourados license plates and who served as a scout, was arrested by the police.
 
In the preliminary survey carried out by the PRF, there were 2.200 boxes of cigarettes, equivalent to 1,1 million packs. The incident was referred to the Federal Police Station in Dourados.
