PRF seizes new shipment of smuggled cigarettes on BR-116

The Federal Highway Police (PRF), through the Tactical Team of the 7th PRF Police Station, during a new inspection operation to combat smuggling on federal highways in the region, was successful in seizing several products of foreign origin without the referred documentation Supervisor.
Early on the morning of last Tuesday, the 29th of São Pedro holiday in Rio Grande, the tactical team of the 7th DPRF was carrying out an inspection barrier on BR-116, when, at kilometer 516, the federal highway police signaled the driver Fiat / Uno car, red, plates of Pelotas, which went in the direction of Pelotas / São Lourenço do Sul, so that it stopped at the shoulder.
The driver of the vehicle did not obey the order of the police and went on the run. He was followed and approached after a few kilometers. The driver was identified as a 40-year-old LFNM.
In the approach, the federal highway police carried out a search inside the vehicle, where several products of foreign origin were found without the aforementioned tax documentation, including medicines, 100 aspirin tablets and about 50 cigarette packs. Most of the cigarettes were on a false bottom in the vehicle's speaker.
