PRF makes biggest seizure of contraband drugs of the year

The Federal Highway Police of Paraná seized, on Monday afternoon (17), in Ubiratã, near Cascavel, about 46 thousand pills of sexual stimulant of Paraguayan origin, a product for sale prohibited in the country.
This was the biggest seizure of contraband drugs recorded this year and is equivalent to 37% of what was seized in 2008. The merchandise was hidden in the steppe of a Pajero pickup and was destined for the capital of Ceará. Two people were arrested.
The police approached, around 14 pm that day, at km 446 of BR 369, a Pajero with signs from Fortaleza (CE). During the utility search, 1.160 Viagra pills, 836 Cialis pills and 44 units of Pramil (also known as “Paraguayan viagra”) were found.
The 32-year-old driver and the 22-year-old passenger took ownership of the drugs and were arrested in the act for smuggling. To the police, they said they got the cards in Foz do Iguaçu and would take them to Fortaleza.
This year, the PRF seized, in Paraná alone, 163.803 thousand units of contraband drugs. In 2008, there were 123.147 thousand.

Approximately 46 contraband sexual stimulant pills were seized on BR-369, in Ubiratã, in western Paraná, by the Federal Highway Police (PRF) on Monday afternoon (17). The drugs were in a pickup truck with a sign from Fortaleza (CE), the city to which the pills would be taken. This was the biggest seizure of contraband drugs made this year by the PRF.
The contraband was manufactured in Paraguay, but it would have been purchased in Foz do Iguaçu, also in the western region, and it is forbidden to sell in Brazil. The driver and passenger of the vehicle were arrested and sent to the Federal Police Station in Cascavel, a city near Ubiratã.
In 2009, the PRF already seized 163.803 thousand units of contraband drugs. In the last year, there were 123.147 thousand.
