Information for the press nº 115 - 17/9/2009
The Federal Revenue seized yesterday (16/09), through customs inspection
of the Federal Revenue of Brazil of the Customs of the Port of Rio de Janeiro, more
of R $ 10 million, in 20 tons of counterfeit and original products.
These are goods with high added value, such as watches, glasses and other items
world famous brands, informed with false declaration of
content, as they were declared as bags or suitcases, with the objective of
to circumvent inspection.
Three containers were also seized, with 60 tons of products
counterfeit (pirates), with the image of the character Betty Boop, and backpacks
counterfeits of the Kipling brand, totaling R $ 4 million.
It is important to highlight that these apprehensions are the conclusion of a work
integrated risk management carried out by the IRS, in which
information is crossed between different RF units across the country
Brazil; exchange between foreign trade information and information
tax information in the Federal Revenue Databases on
those involved in foreign trade operations; monitoring on
suspected actors; and the new tools made available, such as
for example the Siscomex Carga.
Two weeks ago, this procedure led to the seizure of more than 40
tons of goods, which were imported through the same “modus
operandi ”.
