Three prisoners in Anvisa action

Three people were arrested yesterday in Jaraguá do Sul in an operation by the National Health Surveillance Agency (Anvisa), State Health Surveillance and the Federal Police. One of them is councilor José Ozório de Ávila (DEM), Zé da Farmácia. The team inspected three pharmacies in the Connection 344 operation. Three establishments were closed.

The cases of the arrests occurred because of the sale of smuggled drugs from neighboring countries, some of them banned in Brazil, and the sale of prescription drugs without a prescription.

At Drogaria Calçadão, in Rua Marechal Deodoro da Fonseca, Centro, 132 boxes of the drug for erectile dysfunction Vimax 50 were found, banned in the country, imported illegally from Uruguay. About 50 boxes of black and red stripe medicines without invoices were also located.

At the Drogão Ávila Pharmacy, owned by city councilman José Ozório, the drug for rheumatism Reumazin was found, which was denied registration by Anvisa and is prohibited in Brazil. Samples of the drug for erectile dysfunction Pramil were also found. The two were smuggled from Paraguay.

The two owners of Drogaria Calçadão and the councilman were taken to the PF police station in Joinville.

According to Anvisa, the detainees were framed in Article 273 of the Penal Code, which deals with counterfeiting of medicines and can give 10 to 15 years in prison, and in Ordinance 344 of Anvisa, which characterizes the marketing of prohibited drugs as drug trafficking. and you can face 5 to 10 years in prison. The crimes are unspeakable. The other pharmacy, Ultrafarma, was banned for selling contraband perfumes and for not having a place to store medicines for restricted use. The owner will have to pay a fine and renovate his store.
