National Council to Combat Piracy Launches Award

The National Council for Combating Piracy and Offenses against Intellectual Property (CNCP) is open for registration for the 1st National Award for Combating Piracy in order to honor public and private organizations and entities that stood out in this area in the period of August 2010 to July 2011.

The award will be divided into three categories: best law enforcement action, best educational action and best economic action. Each action will be judged based on five criteria: impact and benefit to society, impact and benefit to the economy, innovation and creativity of the initiative, planning and coordination, potential for example and motivation.

To register you will need to fill in the form with the following information: name, position, company or agency where you work, telephone and e-mail of the person responsible for the application, description of the action to combat piracy or illegal market, indication of the results achieved and information Each category will have only one winner, in addition, it will not be possible to register in more than one area.

The completed form must be sent, along with supporting documentation, by correspondence to the National Council for Combating Piracy and Intellectual Property Offenses (CNCP), located at the Ministry of Justice, Esplanada dos Ministérios, block T, room 301, building Headquarters, CEP 70.064-900.

The delivery ceremony will take place on the 2nd of December and will be part of the events of the National Day to Combat Piracy. The registration form is available on the Ministry of Justice website - http://www.mj.gov.br/combatepirataria.

Registrations are open until August 31st.
