Tool will provide greater simplification, security, cost reduction and agility in processes linked to the control of tax documents issued

The government of the State of Rio Grande do Sul launched on November 18, in Porto Alegre, the Electronic Consumer Invoice (NFCe). The new tool will provide greater simplification, security, cost reduction and agility in the processes linked to the control of tax documents issued by about 240 thousand retail companies in Rio Grande do Sul.

NFCe eliminates the need for the invoice to be stored on paper. Just read the QR Code printed on the document issued at the time of purchase, via smartphone or tablet, to have the information stored electronically on the website of the Department of Finance. Information can also be received by email.

For the consumer, a great benefit is the ease of access to tax documents, which will be filed, electronically, on the website of the Secretariat of Finance of each State, which guarantees the authenticity of the commercial transaction.

The launch event was attended by the Executive President of ETCO, Roberto Abdenur, and the Secretary of Finance of Rio Grande do Sul, Odir Tonollier. "In informality, public resources are lost," said Tonollier.

The General Coordinator of the National Meeting of Tax Coordinators and Administrators (Encat), Eudaldo Almeida de Jesus, stated that, with the Electronic Consumer Invoice, “a lot will change in the control of the Tax Authorities and there will be a reduction in the cost in Brazil.”

In addition to the Executive Chairman of ETCO, the Superintendent of the 10th Tax Region of the Federal Revenue, Paulo Renato Silva Paz, the Secretary of Taxation of Rio Grande do Norte, Jefferson Passos, representatives of the São Paulo Finance Department , José Clovis Cabreira, and the Amazonas Finance Secretariat, Luiz Gonzaga Campos de Souza, and the director of the Brazilian Automation Association, Virginia Vaamonde.

Currently 22 companies in Brazil, members of the pilot project, are already issuing NFCe with legal validity.
