Virtual seminar teaches you to avoid theft of confidential data
The Center for Responsible Entrepreneurship and Trade (CREATe.org), a non-governmental organization that maintains a partnership with ETCO for the dissemination of knowledge, held a virtual seminar on April 16 (webinar) on data protection for companies against the risk of cyber theft. The seminar was led by CREATe.org founder and CEO Pamela Passman, former vice president of legal and corporate affairs at Microsoft, and data protection specialist Allen Dixon.
In the virtual lecture, which can be watched through the image below, the CEO cited the recent example of Sony, which had its system hacked by hackers. They erased data, such as financial results, hampering the production of balance sheets, and leaked the most varied confidential information on the internet: from movie scripts and contracts with cinema directors to internal employee evaluations and even their health records.
According to CREATe.org, last year, the number of companies that revealed losses in excess of $ 20 million due to data leakage grew by 92% compared to 2013. Studies cited by the organization also show that 71% of invasions cybernetics are not even noticed by companies.
CREATe.org provides consultancy services for protection against data theft and compliance. The NGO has a system for evaluating corporate data security practices on its website. Can be accessed through from this address.
