Amcham will take Brazilians to the US for compliance benchmarking

The majority of Brazilian entrepreneurs (92%) are currently looking for training and best practices in corporate compliance and 72% are looking for international benchmarking of ethics, anti-corruption and corporate integrity programs. The data are from a survey conducted by the American Chamber of Commerce (Amcham) with 121 Brazilian businessmen, in March. The new business demand arose with the Anticorruption Law and the operations commanded by the Federal Police and the Public Ministry.

To cope with this scenario, Amcham is promoting the first Brazilian compliance business mission in the United States, which will take place between September 10th and 16th. With scheduled visits to important players in Washington and New York, the American Chamber will lead a team of Brazilian businessmen in an exclusive exchange in large companies, universities and institutions that are global references on the topic.

In addition to US government agencies and agencies, the mission group will participate in the “Washington, DC Regional Compliance & Ethics Conference” event, organized by the Society of Corporate Compliance and Ethics (SCCE), involving leading international experts. The program will also include meetings to survey best practices at AES Corporation, Siemens and Pfizer, meetings on trends and innovation at Deloitte and LRN and at the training institute Investiment Adviser Associaton. The delegation will also visit the New York University campus, where it will be received by researchers and professors from the institution that is among the five most renowned law universities in the world, according to Exame Magazine, and by the multinational offices Debevoise & Plimpton and White & Case.

The Brazilian Embassy in Washington is an institutional supporter of this agenda led by Amcham, alongside the ARC, ETCO and Ethos institutes. In all, it will be five days, with the involvement of human resources, finance and legal executives.
