ETCO has new CEO

Evandro Guimarães, who left Grupo Globo's Institutional Relations Vice-Presidency in early 2012, takes over, replacing Roberto Abdenur

Evandro do Carmo Guimarães, administrator formed by the Getúlio Vargas Foundation, from Minas Gerais who finished his studies in Rio, took over in March the Executive Presidency of ETCO, replacing Ambassador Roberto Abdenur, who joined the Institute's Advisory Board.

Respected for his career at Rede Globo, Evandro Guimarães was Vice President of Institutional Relations for the company for 13 years and left his position in 2012 to dedicate himself to personal projects. It was the conclusion of a successful career in the Group, started in the 1970s as a Sales Executive, Development Manager, National Sales Director, Commercial Planning Director, Market Relations Director, Director of Central Globo de Afiliadas e Expansão.

In the late 1990s, he became Vice President of Institutional Relations for Organizações Globo. Occupying this position, he began to dedicate himself to issues related to the convergence of media and the regulation of digital TV. Before joining Grupo Globo, Guimarães had worked at Ciba Geigy and Caloi, always in the Marketing area.
