Complementary Activities

In addition to highlighting the main themes involving the issue of business ethics, the congress will feature four complementary activities.

On the first day, the results of the 3rd Corporate Code of Ethics Survey will be presented, based on the study of the 500 largest companies operating in the country. The main objective of the survey is to encourage the largest number of executives and entrepreneurs to adopt and disclose the Code of Ethics, the main instrument of responsible management and corporate governance, also contributing to the achievement of sustainability. The 2010 edition of this study will be published in the Revista Ética nos Negócios.

On the occasion, the Corporate Ethical Responsibility Program will also be relaunched. The REE Brasil Program intends that the instruments suggested in it can contribute to improving the quality of Responsible Business Care, especially for micro, small and medium-sized companies, including those that integrate the production chain of large corporations and, in this way, the program can be a great ally in shaping the image and reputation of participating companies.

The congress was also the location chosen by the Brazilian Institute of Business Ethics for the launch of the Business Ethics Award, which each year will honor a personality with a great legacy in the business world. In this launch edition, the honoree will be the engineer João Augusto Conrado de Amaral Gurgel. The awards will be given to companies with excellence in responsible performance in six categories: Ethics, Social Responsibility, Environment, Communication and Transparency, Corporate Volunteering and Sustainability.

Closing the 1st Brazilian Congress of Ethics in Business, on March 25, the official launch of the movement Étitude: Have an Ethical Attitude! Will take place, which aims to raise the awareness of the entire Brazilian society about the sustainable benefits of ethical attitudes.

About the Brazilian Institute of Business Ethics

The Brazilian Institute of Business Ethics, based in Campinas (SP), was founded in 2003 as a private, non-profit association, being qualified, in the same year, as a Public Interest Civil Society Organization (Oscip) by the Ministry of Justice. Its main objective is to promote ethics both in the business environment and among children, adolescents and university students. It is in this way, contributing to the improvement of the ethical quality of companies and the training of adult citizens and responsible leaders, that the institution enhances the perspective of a more ethical and, thus, naturally sustainable future.
