During Operation Sentinel, police from the Border Operations Department (DOF) spotted a Corumbá military fireman driving a car with 250 packs of cigarettes, 312 cans of beer and 24 bottles of soda from Bolivia. The seizure of the swamp happened yesterday in a police blockade in Corumbá.

The goods were in a Fiat Palio car. The firefighter, who is 26, did not have his name disclosed.

The fireman said he purchased the goods in Puerto Soarez (BO) to sell in Corumbá. He did not have the documentation proving that the import was regular.

The goods were seized and sent to the Federal Revenue Office of Corumbá.

The DOF caught two other cars with irregular merchandise yesterday.
