Ten people arrested for smuggling and illegal sale of drugs

The Federal Police of Redenção, Pará, triggered on the 24th and 25th of this month the Operation Side Effect, which had the integrated participation of the Federal Police with the National Health Surveillance Agency (Anvisa), the Regional Pharmacy Council of the State of Pará and the State and Municipal Health Surveillance. The objective was to combat smuggling, trade and illegal and illegal manufacture of medicines, among other irregularities in the city's establishments.

So far, ten people have been arrested in flagrante delicto, being taken to the Federal Police Station in Redenção, where they were fined for various crimes, such as smuggling, for sale and manufacture of fake drugs and without registration with Anvisa and of unknown origin.

About 40 establishments were inspected, having seized almost a ton of medicines due to lack of registration with Anvisa and also forged and smuggled. There is also the irregularity of controlled drugs, the sale of which did not comply with the legal and regulatory provisions.


Twenty establishments were banned by the National Health Surveillance Agency and State and Municipal Health Surveillance, due to the illicit and irregularities found. In addition to investigations initiated through imprisonment in flagrante delicto, other investigations will be opened as a result of the seizure of hundreds of illegal and illegal drugs.


A clandestine drug factory was closed and a truck was seized.
