Mercosur countries unite against piracy and smuggling in the region

BRASILIA. Brazil, Argentina, Paraguay and Uruguay unite today against counterfeiting products. The Minister of Justice, Márcio Thomaz Bastos, will host the ceremony in which his colleagues and Ministers of the Interior of Mercosur will sign cooperation agreements to combat piracy and cigarette smuggling. There will be an exchange of information between the police and the Judiciary of the four countries. Treaties will also be signed to unify the rules for treating foreigners involved in these crimes.
