The 1st Military Police Battalion carried out one of the biggest seizures of counterfeit cigarettes this year in cities in the Campos Gerais region. A total of 261 boxes - the equivalent of 130,5 wallets - were seized in Jardim do Bosque, on the outskirts of the city of Arapoti. Two people were arrested.

The operation was carried out by the officers of the Detachment of the PM of Arapoti. Deputy Lieutenant Edival, plus soldiers Maksimio and Deodoro, during an anonymous denunciation check on the practice of smuggling, caught two men removing boxes from a bus and taking them inside the residence.

The value of the seized merchandise was not assessed by the PM. According to soldier Gotardi, in addition to the load of cigarettes, the team seized the bus with Curitiba plates and a Saveiro car with Arapoti plates. “The product and the two vehicles were sent to the 1st BPM and later delivered to the Federal Revenue in Ponta Grossa”, he explains.

Cellular devices and around R $ 18 in cash were also collected. The two men who transhipped the cargo were taken to the Civil Police Precinct of Arapoti and then transferred to the Federal Police Precinct in Curitiba, for a flagrante delicto. One of them was identified by the name of Victor Chagovich. The other is Anderson Ferreira Hilgemberg.
