The Military Police discovered on Thursday in the Paulicéia neighborhood, in São Bernardo, a chemical company suspected of promoting adulteration of fuels. The police were suspicious when they saw a tanker truck entering the place, on General Izidoro Dias Lopes street.

The ANP (National Petroleum Agency) was called and confirmed that there are indications that the company was mixing solvent to fuels. According to Alcides Amazonas, the agency's inspection chief, an unidentified product was collected from inside a tanker truck and sent for analysis at the IPT (Institute of Technological Research).

"If it is proven that the place sold this type of product, the company will be assessed, the material will be seized and it will respond to an administrative proceeding, in addition to having to pay a fine," explained Amazonas.

He also informed that he asked the Public Ministry and the Military Police to preserve the place until the result of the analysis required to the IPT comes out.
