The Federal Police of Cascavel arrested two men and seized two trucks loaded with boxes of cigarettes during the dawn of this Thursday (27). The operation came after police investigations into cigarette smuggling from Paraguay.

The boxes arrived in Brazil via Lago de Itaipu and were unloaded in Porto Mendes. From there they were hidden in a place, located in the interior of Quatro Pontes. It was there that the police found the cargo in two trucks, a Fiat Iveco with AMY5314 plates by Marechal Cândido Rondon and a Mercedes Benz with BXG8992 plates from Cascavel that contained bags with garbage, used to camouflage the merchandise.

In each of the trucks, police found about 225 boxes of cigarettes.
The detainees, OLU, 31 years old and IAL, 42 years old, were residents of Marechal Cândido Rondon. The owner of the farm ran away the moment he noticed the presence of the police.
The cargo and trucks were delivered to the Federal Revenue of Cascavel.
