The Federal Highway Police (PRF) and the IRS seized, at around 7 am on Tuesday (6), 11 vehicles loaded with products allegedly smuggled. According to the Federal Revenue Service, the cars were on a train, traveling along a rural road in Santa Terezinha do Itaipu, in the western region of the state, which is used by smugglers to bypass the PRF post.
Of the 11 seized vehicles, 10 carried items such as cigarettes and lighters. Drivers of 5 vehicles remained on the scene and another 6 fled when they noticed the police approach. According to the IRS, cars have license plates from the cities of São Paulo (SP), São José (SC), Curitiba (PR), Joinville (SC), Campinas (SP), Cascavel (PR), Aparecida (SP), Salto do Itararé (PR) and Foz do Iguaçu (PR).
The cars and goods were sealed and sent to the Federal Revenue Service of Brazil in Foz do Iguaçu, which will evaluate the goods. Those responsible will answer for contraband and / or embezzlement and, according to the valuation of the seized items, they may be caught in the act or reported to the Federal Public Ministry.
In another inspection carried out this Tuesday morning at the PRF Post in Santa Terezinha de Itaipu, another car with plates from Franca (SP) loaded with computer products was also apprehended.
