Counterfeit medicines represent 10% of the total volume of medicines worldwide. According to a survey by the World Health Organization (WHO), the pirated medicine market in the world causes a tax loss of US $ 35 billion. WHO's expectation for this year is that this figure will exceed US $ 60 billion.

To debate this issue, ANAHP (National Association of Private Hospitals) and GS1, the association responsible for the standardization of logistics and traceability processes, will hold the Automation, Traceability and Safety Seminar next Thursday, in São Paulo Patient. The event will present pioneering cases on the subject. Speakers include the Albert Einstein Hospital, the Oswaldo Cruz Hospital, the Santa Joana Maternity Hospital and the Eurofarma and Isofarma laboratories. In 16, Law 2011 / 11.903 will be enforced, which will oblige health institutions and pharmaceutical industries to track drugs from the beginning of the production chain, at manufacturers, to the final consumer.
