Police officers of the Federal Highway Police seized on Tuesday at kilometer 368 of BR-277, municipality of Goioxim, a cargo of cigarettes smuggled from Paraguay that was being transported in the Volvo of MXC-7059 plates (municipality not indicated), directed by Ademir Vargas da Silva, 39 years old.

When stopped by the patrolmen, Ademir said he was transporting soybeans, but when asked about the invoice, he informed that he did not bring it with him. Even before the team started the search in the body, the driver confessed that he was taking cigarettes from Paraguay that he picked up in Cascavel. The cargo was bound for Ponta Grossa.

The truck counted 1100 boxes containing 55 thousand packages. The contraband was sent to the IRS and the driver was taken to the Federal Police Station of Guarapuava.
