According to the sub-coordinator of Merchandise in Transit (Sumati), Paulo Sérgio Lopes Costa, the establishment was closed on the afternoon of last Thursday because it was selling alcohol, gasoline and diesel without authorization by the National Agency of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuel (ANP) .

This inspection work carried out by SET has existed since 2009, when a partnership was signed with the ANP to combat tax evasion and adulteration of fuels in Rio Grande do Norte. SET's tax auditors were trained to run the Fuel Dealer Monitoring Program in all municipalities in the state. “Our objective is to investigate the performance of the 578 active posts in Rio Grande do Norte”, informs Paulo Sérgio.

After this training, SET auditors began their inspection work by assessing the compliance of the fuels that are offered for sale with the ANP legislation. They observe several factors, such as: the quality of fuel sold, the source of supply, fidelity of the flag, scriptural and physical analysis of fuel movement records, collection of fuel samples to be analyzed in the laboratory and authorization to sell to ANP , in addition to monitoring compliance with tax obligations.

If the gas stations, which are being analyzed, are not following the ANP rules, the fine given to them ranges from R $ 5 to R $ 5 million, in addition to the interdiction of the station, due to the non-conformity of fuels to the required specifications. by law. This dealer is subject to this sanction and will only function again when the specifications required by law are regularized.
