Budget cuts push campaign promise to end 2018

The Minister of Justice, José Eduardo Cardozo, said on Tuesday, October 6, that states bordering neighboring countries and other units considered to be violent will receive “as soon as possible, depending on our budget condition” integrated command centers between the public security forces. The proposal to install this type of integration units for the police forces was one of Dilma Rousseff's campaign promises, who, in August 2014, stated that “in a year and a half, all 27 Federation units would have these centers. According to the minister, given the budgetary conditions, the new term for the installation of all centers is "until the end of the government".

On Tuesday, October 6, during participation in the Seminar on Smuggling in Brazil: Impacts and Solutions, Minister Cardozo said that the government has not given up on the idea, which should come out "soon". "We want to implement integrated command centers in all states, but with priority for border states, which will receive as soon as possible, depending on our budgetary condition", stressed the minister. The seminar is held by the Correio Braziliense and the Brazilian Institute of Competition Ethics (ETCO).
