Smuggling causes loss of R $ 100 billion

The underground economy in Brazil, estimated by Fundação Getúlio Vargas at more than R $ 800 billion, would today be the 17th largest GDP in the world. The difference is that it produces almost nothing, except damage to the consumer, the tax authorities and the competition. It is run by smugglers, manufacturers of pirated products and a less-fought character so far: the incumbent debtor, who creates a company to earn money without any concern for the laws and the payment of taxes.
