Recent laws created in the United States, one of the most important markets for Brazil, represent a real opportunity to resolve an issue of paramount importance for the real development of companies and also the establishment of more equal bases of competition.

Already in force in American states, such as Washington and Louisiana, these laws were created to avoid unfair competition and provide a more level playing field for manufacturers that act legally, based on the requirement that manufacturers use an IT (information technology) structure ) properly licensed on all your systems. This includes properly licensed hardware and software.

"These are fundamental laws to prevent one company from gaining undue competitive advantages over another, when using non-legalized IT assets", comments ETCO Chief Executive Roberto Abdenur. For him, "any Brazilian manufacturing company that does business in the USA needs to understand the implications of these new laws and how they can affect their access to this important market".

The success of the manufacturing industry is a critical component of the Brazilian economy, with a huge impact on our society, generating jobs, increasing the quality of life. The focus on exporting to large countries, such as the USA, also helps to build relationships and open opportunities around the world.

With the heating of the economy and the modernization of the country, the Brazilian industry increasingly uses Information Technology as an important asset and business differential. "Although we see rapid growth in the use and consumption of this resource, this is not good news in all aspects, as we continue to observe disrespect for intellectual property," says Abdenur.

In Brazil, despite the progress observed in recent years, the software piracy rate still reaches an alarming 54% of the market, a country where the culture of intellectual property is not fully consolidated and where the use of non-legalized IT structures represents the loss opportunities. Specifically in the manufacturing area, this reality distorts competition in the market, with manufacturers competing unfairly through the use of an unlawful IT structure.

"We believe that these laws represent an opportunity to increase the use of legalized IT structures throughout the manufacturing sector and also to increase the respect for intellectual property in our country" evaluates Abdenur. He is convinced that "the benefits for our society will come in the form of greater innovation, job creation and the establishment of new companies and high-tech jobs".

For companies, the benefits of using a legalized IT structure are clear: creating a fairer and more aligned market for all manufacturers, ensuring access to the important American market, improving reputation with international partners, removing risk legal penalties and the assurance that you use a legalized and secure IT structure to support your business.

“Respect for intellectual property and a legalized IT structure represent a positive movement for the economy and this becomes even more essential for our manufacturing companies, with the creation of these laws in the USA”, concludes Abdenur.
