Executive President Roberto Abdenur presented ETCO and discussed possible measures to bring the academic community closer to the Institute

With the objective of strengthening the relationship with the academic environment to stimulate debate and research on competitive ethics in Brazilian universities and colleges, the Executive President of ETCO, Roberto Abdenur, went to the Faculty of Economics, Administration and Accounting at the University of São Paulo Paulo (FEA / USP) to present the Institute and discuss the importance of an approach to promote the improvement of the business environment in the country.

According to the Director of FEA, Reinaldo Guerreiro, the meeting held on September 10 was the first, it is hoped, in a series, and the event was supported by the rectory of the University. The meeting brought together 15 professors from the faculty.

The creation of a Research Center for specific actions to be carried out by FEA and ETCO was discussed at the event, as well as the creation of a discipline in the curriculum that discusses ethics in organizations.

Abdenur said he hoped the meeting would be the beginning of a fruitful dialogue and that any proposal from the faculty would be welcome. “We seek to encourage studies and research on the factors that lead to misconduct in order to create lines of work from them. ETCO aims to intensify the dialogue with the academic environment and, being in São Paulo, nothing more natural than this movement to start with USP ”, he said.

André Franco Montoro Filho, a former professor at FEA and a member of the ETCO Advisory Council, also participated in the meeting at USP. He highlighted the issue of taxation in Brazil, stating that it is possible to increase the efficiency of the tax system significantly without an increase in taxes.

“What highlights Brazil negatively is the time it takes to pay taxes. One possible way would be for the entrepreneur to know at the beginning of the year what he will pay for taxes in that period ”, said Montoro Filho. “ETCO's struggle is not something that runs out in the short term. It involves medium and long-term changes, and the University can contribute to changing the social mindset, showing advantages and disadvantages. ”
