Event supported by ETCO dealt with cooperation between law enforcement agencies

Promote integration between the agencies that fight illegal trade in Paraná, where Brazil has borders with Argentina and Paraguay. That was the objective of the VIII Triple Border Seminar, held on October 22, in Foz do Iguaçu, by the National Forum Against Piracy and Illegality (FNCP), in partnership with the Superintendence of the 9th Fiscal Region of the Federal Revenue. The event was supported by ETCO-Brazilian Institute of Ethics in Competition.

The seminar brought together authorities from the courts, the Federal Revenue Service and the Federal Police and specialists from companies and civil society entities. The discussions were divided into two panels: one on cooperation between law enforcement agencies and another on the illegal pay-TV market, which has been affected by the smuggling of set-top boxes.

The event generated strategic proposals to improve the integrated actions of public authorities in the region. "This year, we brought together federal authorities who work in Foz do Iguaçu with the aim of improving relations between the different fronts of action in the fight against smuggling," explained Edson Vismona, president of the FNCP. "We focus on developing viable proposals to improve border control."
